Many noteworthy employers congregated on Wednesday, October 16 for the Fall 2013 Communication Job and Internship Fair hosted by the College of Communication at the famous DKR Memorial Stadium. Ranging from locally owned magazine companies to globally recognized businesses, the career fair was nothing shy of diverse.
To name just a few of the 90 employers who attended the fair were the famous PR firm and corporate branding company Cohn & Wolfe, local magazine recruiters from Austin Monthly, retail specialists from one of our nation’s favorite department stores Macy’s, and many, many more. Of course, they were all there seeking one thing: eager and interested college students ready to take on internships, part-time or even full-time employment.
While the semester continued in the midst of crunch time and a second round of midterms, students arrived prepared in their business attire, ready to take on the challenge of dazzling employers looking for knowledgeable future interns and employees.
With their starched ties and freshly pressed slacks, students made impressionable, lasting memories as they heralded their elevator speeches and passed out their resumes like hot cakes to each and every employer. With their fingers crossed, students left the Career Fair with hope, excitement and plenty of business cards.
